Lacoste
The Lacoste brand was founded in 1933 by René Lacoste, a famous French tennis player, and designer Robert George, who invented the knitwear that made the brand famous. René Lacoste was nicknamed ‘The Crocodile’ because of his tenacity on the court, and so the brand's logo became the famous green crocodile. After his sporting career, Lacoste decided to branch out into fashion, creating a line of elegant and comfortable sportswear for men and women. His first creation was the famous Lacoste polo shirt, in which he had the logo embroidered.
